TO: Honorable Barry Telford, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2965
Committee on Pensions and Investments By: Reyna, Elvira
          House
          Austin, Texas

         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2965 ( Relating
to investment training for board members and investment officers
of state agencies.) this office has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2965-As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would direct the Higher Education Coordinating Board
to provide investment training for board members and investment
officers of state agencies. The Higher Education Coordinating
Board currently provides training for investment officers, regents,
and trustees of higher education institutions. It is assumed
that the Board would be allowed to charge a fee to cover their
costs similarly to their current training.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
