The bill would amend Section 47.01 of the Penal Code to clarify the definition of gambling device. It would also enhance the penalty for gambling promotion from a Class A misdemeanor to a state jail felony. The fiscal implications, while negative, are estimated to be insignificant. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
