LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 9, 1997 TO: Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 3368, As Engrossed Committee on State Affairs By: Junell Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB3368 ( Relating to the acquisition of real property by the General Services Commission as an alternative to leasing space.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB3368-As Engrossed No cost to the State is anticipated. The bill would authorize the construction of state facilities as an alternative to leasing space, which could result in significant savings to the state. The bill would allow the General Services Commission to consider facility construction as an alternative to leasing space as part of the commission's facility evaluation process. The commission would be authorized to acquire and construct space other than office space such as laboratories and warehouses.
