LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 1, 1997 TO: Honorable Steve Holzheauser, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 3492 Committee on Energy Resources By: Holzheauser House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB3492 ( Relating to the Texas Committee on Energy Policy and the Texas Energy Coordination Council.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB3492-As Introduced The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would designate the Texas Energy Coordination Council as a separate state agency. Currently, the council receives adminstrative support from the University of Texas at Austin. The bill would entitle the council to an appropriation of $500,000 in oil overcharge funds each biennium, plus any unexpended balances from prior biennia. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
