LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
75th Regular Session
April 1, 1997
TO: Honorable Steve Holzheauser, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 3492
Committee on Energy Resources By: Holzheauser
House
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB3492 ( Relating
to the Texas Committee on Energy Policy and the Texas Energy
Coordination Council.) this office has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB3492-As Introduced
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the
legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would designate the Texas Energy Coordination Council
as a separate state agency. Currently, the council receives
adminstrative support from the University of Texas at Austin.
The bill would entitle the council to an appropriation of $500,000
in oil overcharge funds each biennium, plus any unexpended balances
from prior biennia.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
