         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB118 ( Relating
to placement of certain children in certain long-term care institutions.)
this office has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB118-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill. The Texas Education Agency identified administrative
costs of $47,684 annually to implement the provisions of the
bill. It is assumed that the provisions can be implemented
within existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government
is anticipated.
