In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB165 ( Relating 
to the interest on delinquent child support payments.) this 
office has detemined the following:
         
         Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB165-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted   FN Revision 1
         

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
         
The bill would give the court discretion to order an interest 
rate on delinquent child support payments that is lower than 
the 12 percent rate specified in Section 157.265, Family Code. 
 The Office of the Attorney General could reasonably absorb 
any additional work as a result of the passage of this bill 
with current staff and resources.  
         
 
          
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government 
is anticipated.
