LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 21, 1997 TO: Honorable Bob Bullock IN RE: Senate Bill No. 197, As Passed 2nd House Lieutenant Governor Zaffirini Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB197 ( Relating to the regulation of alcohol awareness courses by the Texas Commission of Alcohol and Drug Abuse.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB197-As Passed 2nd House No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. This bill relates to the regulation of alcohol awareness courses by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (TCADA). The proposed change to TCADA's enabling legislation adds language that specifically allows TCADA to charge fees for Alcohol Awareness courses. These fees are already being charged pursuant to Art. 42.12, Section 13 (h) Code of Criminal Procedure. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
