         In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB197 ( Relating to the
regulation of alcohol awareness courses by the Texas Commission on Alcohol
and Drug Abuse.) this office has detemined the following:
         
         Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB197-As Introduced
         
             No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  This bill relates to the
regulation of alcohol awareness courses by the Texas Commission on Alcohol
and Drug Abuse (TCADA).  The proposed change to TCADA's enabling legislation
adds language that specifically allows TCADA to charge fees for Alcohol Awareness
courses.  These fees are already being charged pursuant to Art. 42.12, Section 13 (h) Code
of Criminal Procedure.
         
         
         
 
          
             No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
