In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB236 ( Relating 
to the right of voters in a municipality to participate in municipal 
elections.) this office has detemined the following:
         
         Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB236-As Engrossed
         

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
         

         
 
          
This bill would prohibit a municipality from ordering municipal 
elections to be held in certain newly annexed areas for 120 
days after such an annexation is approved, unless Voting Rights 
Act clearance is received from the United States Department 
of Justice prior to the end of that 120 days.  

No signficant 
fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
