LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session March 3, 1997 TO: Honorable Judith Zaffirini, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 262 Committee on Health & Human Services By: Sibley Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB262 ( Relating to employment in a nursing home or other facility serving the elderly or disabled.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB262-As Introduced No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend Chapter 250 of the Health and Safety Code by amending Section 250.006. The bill would add several offenses to the list of convictions which bar employment by a nursing facility, including: sexual assault; aggravated assault; injury to a child, elderly individual or disabled individual; abandoning or endangering a child; and aiding suicide.
