The bill would repeal Chapter 2, Acts of the 72nd Legislature, 1st Called session, 1991 (Article 4494q-2, Vernon's Civil Statutes), relating to the funding of the Medicaid Disproportionate Share Program through an assessment on hospitals and hospital districts. The provider tax in question has become inconsistent with federal law and is no longer assessed. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
