          Senate
          Austin, Texas

         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB411 ( Relating
to parental notification and consent before an abortion may
be performed on a minor; providing a criminal penalty.) this
office has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB411-As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Any additional administrative costs to the Texas Department
of Health and the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services
caused by this bill could be absorbed within current operating
levels.

Similar annual fiscal implications would continue as long as
the provisions of the bill are in effect.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government
is anticipated, although some additional costs to county courts
at law and probate courts are anticipated. Some additional costs
to local law enforcement agencies and courts could result from
implementing the criminal penalty provision, but these costs
are not expected to be significant.
