TO: Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 500

          Senate
          Austin, Texas

         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB500 ( Relating
to the contents of a voter registration application.) this office
has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB500-As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill amends the Election Code, requiring that voter registration
applicants provide their drivers license number or personal
identification card number issued by the Department of Public
Safety. There could be savings to units of local government
since counties may be better able to identify potential duplicate
voter registration applicants.
