         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB503 ( Relating
to the continuation of the school child care services program.)
this office has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB503-As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.

FISCAL ANALYSIS
The bill would permit the Work and Family Clearinghouse
to distribute legislative appropriations to any school district
to implement school-age child care services before and after
school and during school holidays. Funds received are to be
used for planning, development, establishment, expansion or
improvement of child care services. The bill also allows the
Work and Family Clearinghouse to distribute funds to pay fees
charged for services to at-risk students. The agency is authorized
to establish rules for procedures and eligibility requirements
for distributing these funds to school districts.

LOCAL
No fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
