Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB503 ( Relating to the continuation of the school child care services program.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB503-As Introduced No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. FISCAL ANALYSIS The bill would permit the Work and Family Clearinghouse to distribute legislative appropriations to any school district to implement school-age child care services before and after school and during school holidays. Funds received are to be used for planning, development, establishment, expansion or improvement of child care services. The bill also allows the Work and Family Clearinghouse to distribute funds to pay fees charged for services to at-risk students. The agency is authorized to establish rules for procedures and eligibility requirements for distributing these funds to school districts. LOCAL No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
