TO: Honorable Hugo Berlanga, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 662, Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted
Committee on Public Health By: Moncrief
          House
          Austin, Texas

         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB662 ( Relating
to the unauthorized practice of chiropractic; providing civil
and administrative penalties and injunctive relief.) this office
has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB662-Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.

The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.

The Board of Chiropractic Examiners would be
able to monitor whether an owner or operator of a chiropractic
facility is licensed based on the information which they already
collect. In addition, the Board has recently begun to do compliance
visits across the state and would be able to check whether an
owner is licensed during the visit.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
