FISCAL NOTE
75th Regular Session
March 18, 1997
TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 804
Committee on Intergovernmental Relations By: Brown
Senate
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB804 ( Relating
to allowing municipalities to purchase goods for retail sale
without following competitive bidding procedures.) this office
has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB804-As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would allow municipalities to purchase goods for subsequent
retail sale without following competitive bidding procedures.
Municipalities could realize positive fiscal implications equal
to the publishing and administrative costs associated with competitive
bidding procedures for such items. However, since it is expected
that municipalities would purchase relatively few items for
retail sale, no significant fiscal implication is anticipated.
