LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session March 23, 1997 TO: Honorable Bill Ratliff, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 926 Committee on Finance By: Sibley Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB926 ( Relating to the medical services fee at the University of North Texas.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB926-As Introduced No fiscal impact to the State is anticipated. The bill would authorize the Board of Regents of the University of North Texas to increase the medical services fee charged to students attending the institution. The fee could not exceed $50 for each semester of the regular term or 12 -week summer session and could not exceed $25 for each six-week or shorter term of the summer session. It is estimated the medical services fee rate would increase gradually at a rate of 10 percent each year. The estimated increase would generate approximately $202,900 in institutional funds in Fiscal Year 1998 and $446,400 in Fiscal Year 1999.
