FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1114 ( Relating
to the establishment of a "wheels for work" pilot program to
assist certain recipients of AFDC.) this office has detemined
the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1114-As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would establish a pilot program for "Wheels for Work"
in the Texas Workforce Commission in a county with a population
in excess of 2.8 million. The program would be modeled on the
Maryland "wheels for work" program and is designed to assist
persons who receive financial assistance to find and maintain
employment by helping them secure a donated vehicle at a low
cost, and to provide donors with a receipt for federal tax deduction
purposes.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
