LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 6, 1997 TO: Honorable Hugo Berlanga, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 1245, As Engrossed Committee on Public Health By: Madla House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1245 ( Relating to laws regulating the distribution and dispensation of controlled substances and to the enforcement of those laws.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1245-As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would require the Department of Public Safety to issue prescription stickers to practitioners, rather than the triplicate prescription forms that are now provided. The bill would allow the department to charge a fee to cover costs associated with producing these stickers. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
