LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 24, 1997 TO: Honorable Hugo Berlanga, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 1295, As Engrossed Committee on Public Health By: Cain House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1295 ( Relating to licensure of certain international medical students who have successfully completed a Fifth Pathway Program.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1295-As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Medical Practice Act by allowing for the licensure of certain international medical students who have met licensure requirements. It is estimated that twenty new licensees would be affected. Costs associated with the bill can be absorbed by the resources and appropriations of the Board of Medical Examiners.
