          Committee on Education By: West, Royce
          Senate

         FROM:  John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1356 ( Relating
to reporting of information relating to expulsions and placements
in alternative education programs.) this office has detemined
the following:

         Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1356-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Some costs may be associated with increased information and
data management; however, most of the information required under
this bill is currently gathered and reported for state and/or
federal reporting purposes.

No significant fiscal implication
to units of local government is anticipated. Costs associated
with this bill would relate to increased reporting requirements;
however school districts already have systems for "safe schools"
data collection and reporting for both state and federal purposes,
which covers most of the information to be collected under this
bill.
