Committee on Education By: Ellis
Senate
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1379 ( Relating
to adult education programs.) this office has detemined the
following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1379-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would implement the Texas Performance Review recommendation
WF3 in Disturbing the Peace: The Challenge of Change in Texas
Government. These changes would not require additional staff
or resources at the Texas Education Agency (TEA). TEA already
receives funds for developing the management information system
to measure student skills. Work on the individual assessment
instrument has been ongoing since 1994, and funding for the
continued development should come from existing program evaluation
funds at participating agencies.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
