LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 14, 1997 TO: Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 1380 Committee on State Affairs By: Ellis Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1380 ( Relating to the creation of a state business daily to give notice before a state agency makes a procurement with a value that exceeds $25,000.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1380-As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. Fiscal Analysis The bill would require the creation of a state business daily to give notice before a state agency makes a procurement with a value that exceeds $25,000. Methodology The fee for the business daily would cover only the costs of making the printed daily available. Because the printing and distribution costs would be covered by subscription fees, there should be no net fiscal impact from this part of the daily's cost. Any increase in cost or workload to gather and prepare information for the daily and to make it available on the Internet could likely be absorbed within current agency resources. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Source: Agencies: 303 General Services Commission 304 Comptroller of Public Accounts 465 Department of Commerce LBB Staff: JK ,JD ,RN
