"Buster" Brown, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 1465 Committee on Natural Resources By: Brown Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1465 ( Relating to the handling and testing of certain animals; providing a penalty.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1465-As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would repeal the statutory rate paid to compensate owners for cattle that must be destroyed as a result of exposure or infection from tuberculosis and would authorize the Animal Health Commission to set the indemnity rate. The commission estimates that an increase in the indemnity from a statutory range of $35 to $75 to a single indemnity of $250 would result in a cost to the General Revenue Fund of $2,510 per year.
