         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1491 ( relating
to the creation of the self-sufficiency fund to develop job
training for certain recipients of the financial assistance
program for persons with dependent children.) this office has
detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1491-Committee Report 2nd House, as amended

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would create a self-sufficiency fund to be used by
public community colleges, technical colleges, and community
based organizations as start-up funds for AFDC recipient job
training. It is assumed that the source of funding would be
appropriated federal funds. The commission would coordinate
contracts between employers and public educational institutions
for training qualified participants.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
