Truan, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 1518 Committee on International Relations, Trade & Technology By: Truan Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1518 ( Relating to the creation of a Texas High Technology Partnership Center at the Geo-Technology Research Institute.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1518-As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would amend the Education Code to establish the Texas High Technology Partnership Center at the Geo-Technology Research Institute. The bill would authorize the new center to receive funds from the state or federal government or from private sources. The Legislature could appropriate funds to the center for the purposes laid out in the bill. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
