LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 2, 1997 TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 1527 Committee on Intergovernmental Relations By: Ellis Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1527 ( Relating to establishing a home buyer education program.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1527-As Introduced No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. This bill requires the Department of Housing and Community Affairs to develop and implement a statewide home buyer education program. The department would cooperate with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, the Real Estate Research Center at Texas A&M University and other entities to develop a standard system of instruction, curriculum, and counseling. The department would use funds available for home buyer education as well as funds received from other entities by gifts, grants, or contracts.
