LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
75th Regular Session
May 15, 1997
TO: Honorable Bob Bullock IN RE: Senate Bill No. 1906, As Passed 2nd House
Lieutenant Governor By: Ratliff
Senate
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1906 ( Relating
to the administration of oil overcharge funds.) this office
has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1906-As Passed 2nd House
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
The bill would amend or repeal several sections
in Chapter 2305 of the Government Code. These changes relate
to the administration of oil overcharge-related programs and
funds.
The bill would require the state energy office to
ensure that the minimum size of the Loanstar program be $95
million, consisting of cash on hand and loan commitments. This
provision would not have a significant impact on state funds
because the Loanstar program receives funding from oil overcharge
settlement allocations by the federal government, plus loan
repayments.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
