LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 10, 1997 TO: Honorable David Sibley, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 1915 Committee on Economic Development By: Sibley Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SB1915 ( Relating to the regulation of utilities.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SB1915-As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated since all additional workload could be handled with existing agency resources. In addition, Section 1 of the bill would authorize the Public Utility Commission (PUC) to assess a fee to cover the cost of the agency's system of electronic access to rulemakings and contested case proceedings. According to PUC, this would have no fiscal impact because it provides statutory authority to do what the agency currently does via a fee waiver from the General Service Commission. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
