In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on SJR36 ( proposing
a constitutional amendment to allow a person who holds the office
of municipal court judge to hold more than one civil office
of emolument at the same time) this office has detemined the
following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by SJR36-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated,
other than the cost of publication. The cost to the state for
publication of the resolution is $71,000.

It is expected that some savings would result for cities which
were able to share the cost of employing a municipal court judge.
