         Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule on January 
         27, 1997, the House Committee on Appropriations met jointly in a 
         public hearing with the House Committee on Public Education and 
         was called to order by the Chair, Representative Robert Junell 
         at 8:07 am.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:

         A quorum was present.

         took roll.
