revised on February 24, 1997, the House Committee on
Appropriations met in a public hearing and was called to
order by the Chair, Representative Robert Junell at 8:00
am.

ARTICLE II - HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Commission for the
Representative Haggerty moved to adopt the LBB
recommendations on the following amendments and strategies
(Communication access and Interpreter Vehicle). Add three
new riders by Haggerty, rider 1(Capital Budget) and 2
(Reimbursement of Advisory Committee) 3 (Summer Camp
Program). The motion was adopted.
Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Commission on
Testimony was taken. See attached witness list.
Representative Glaze move LBB on bill patterns, riders and
amendments. Adopt rider 2(Stipends for Students). Leave
the two carry forward riders and Davis rider pending. The
motion was adopted.
Blind, Commission on the
Representative Haggerty moved to adopt the LBB
recommendations on bill patterns with amendments to
strategy A.1.1 Independent Living Skills and strategy B.1.2
Vocational Rehabilitation strategies. Adopt Rider
3(Endowment Fund) and Rider 2 (Business Enterprise Fund).
Adopt Method of Finance Change relating to the Endowment
Fund.
