         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 14, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on State Park System  
         Review met in a public hearing and was called to order by  
         Chairman Edmund Kuempel at 9:41 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Kuempel; Horn; King; Longoria;  
                   McCall; Merritt (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Davis; Eiland; Finnell; Raymond;  
                   Swinford (5). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken as an introduction of the Park, Recreation  
         and Natural Resources Study. 
          
         Testimony was taken of the description of the study elements,  
         processes being used and products to be delivered as a result  
         of the study. 
          
         (Representatives Finnell and Davis now present.) 
          
         Testimony continued. 
          
         Testimony was taken on the demographic changes within the  
         state impacting the outdoor recreational infrastructure. 
          
         At 11:49 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
