         Pursuant to a notice posted on July 17, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Performance Based  
         Budgeting met in a public hearing and was called to order by  
         the Acting Chair, Representative Cuellar at 1:35 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Cuellar; Walker (2). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Averitt; Davis; Haggerty; Hernandez;  
                   Mowery; Price; Tillery (7). 
          
         (Representative Tillery now present.)   
          
         (Representative Davis now present.)   
          
         Testimony was taken from Bob Wessels and Judge David Hodges  
         concerning judicial performance measures. 
          
         Testimony was taken from Ken Gable, Joyce Keller, Ed Laine,  
         Jim Dozier, Bill Dally, and David Long concerning Activity  
         Based Costing. 
          
         Also present Representative Carl Isett. 
          
         The committee also discussed the final report and  
         recommendations. 
          
         At 3:25 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
