         Pursuant to a notice posted on August 12, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Criminal Justice  
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the Chair,  
         Representative  Turner at 1:46 pm.

         Testimony was taken from TSTA on compensation issues. 
          
         At 4:20 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
