         Pursuant to a notice posted on August 18, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Job  
         Classification met in a public hearing and was called to order  
         by the  Chair, Representative Greenberg at 2:10 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Greenberg; Hochberg; Kubiak; West,  
                   George "Buddy" (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Gallego; Haggerty; Hernandez;Moreno;  
                   Price (5). 
          
         A quroum was not present. 
          
         Members discussed recommendations for interim report.  
         Revisions were made. Members present voted unanimously to  
         approve the  report as amended. At 2:51 pm, on the motion of  
         the chair and without objection, the meeting was recessed  
         subject to the call of the chair. No public testimony was  
         taken.
