         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 14, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on General Government met in a 
         work session and was called to order by the Chair, 
         Representative Talmadge Heflin at 2:10 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Davis; Finnell; Raymond (4).
         
         Absent:   Representative Swinford (1).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         The subcommittee discussed pending issues before the 
         subcommittee.  At 7:00 pm, on the motion of the chair and 
         without objection, the meeting was recessed until lunch recess 
         of the full House Committee on Appropriations on Monday, 
         February 17, 1997.
