         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 12, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Education met in a work 
         session and was called to order by the Chair, Representative 
         Henry Cuellar at 5:00 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Cuellar; Greenberg; Hernandez; 
                   Hochberg; West, George "Buddy" (5).
         
         Absent:   None (0).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         
         The Subcommittee discussed the agency budget requests that had 
         been presented to the Subcommittee in prior public hearings.
         
         At 6:50 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection, 
         the meeting was adjourned until Sunday, February 16, 1997 at 
         6:00 pm.
