Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 22,
1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting
and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark
Stiles at 2:15 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Stiles; Hilbert; Brimer; Danburg;
Hernandez; McCall; Place; Sadler; Turner, Sylvester
(9).
Absent: Representatives Berlanga; Dutton (2).
A quorum was present.
The Chair recognized Rep. Place, who moved to place the
following bills on a Calendar for Thursday, April 24, 1997:
HB 2119 on the Major State Calendar; HB 762, HB 921, HB 1243,
HB 1516, HB 2825, HB 10, HB 2841, HB 1968, HB 1971, HB 2230,
HB 2231, HB 2446, HB 2506, HB 2517, HB 2541, HB 2592, HB 3061,
HB 3113, HB 3170, and HB 3517 on the General State Calendar.
Rep. Dutton now present.
The Chair recognized Rep. Turner, who moved to amend Rep.
Place's motion to add HB 1216 to the bills being placed on the
General State Calendar. Rep. Turner's motion was adopted
without objection.
Rep. Sadler seconded the amended motion, which passed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hilbert; Brimer; Danburg;
Hernandez; McCall; Place; Sadler; Turner,
Sylvester (8).
Nays: Representative Dutton (1).
Present not Voting: Representative Stiles (1).
Absent: Representative Berlanga (1).
The Chair recognized Rep. Hernandez, who moved to not place
the following bills and resolutions on a Calendar at this
time: HB 236, HB 730, HB 796, HB 820, HB 1053, HB 1411, HB
1647, HB 1664, HB 1759, HB 1780, HB 1795, HB 2053, HB 2295, HB
2865, HCR 96, SB 162, SB 308, SB 434, SB 474, SB 537, and SB
601. Rep. Dutton seconded the motion, which passed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hilbert; Brimer; Danburg;
Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place; Sadler;
Turner, Sylvester (9).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: Representative Stiles (1).
Absent: Representative Berlanga (1).
At 2:20 pm, on the motion of Representative Hilbert and
without objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the
call of the chair.
