        Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 20,  
        1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting  
        and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark  
        Stiles at 7:30 pm. 
         
        The roll was answered as follows:   
         
        Present:   Representatives Stiles; Hilbert; Berlanga; Danburg;  
                   Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place; Turner, Sylvester  
                   (9). 
        Absent:    Representatives Brimer; Sadler (2). 
         
        A quorum was present. 
         
        Rep. Brimer now present. 
         
        The Chair moved that the Committee place the following bills  
        and resolutions on a calendar for Thursday, May 22, 1997:  SB  
        54, SB 46, SB 253, and SB 1417 on the Major State Calendar; SB  
        148, SB 102, SB 31, SB 34, SB 78, SB 160, SB 187, SB 877, SB  
        1247, SB 1699, SB 188, SB 211, SB 265, SB 318, SB 332, SB 336,  
        SB 349, SB 443, SB 455, SB 489, SB 505, SB 534, SB 572, SB 582,  
        SB 627, SB 645, SB 700, SB 987, SB 1036, SB 1241, SB 1447, SB  
        1498, SB 1752, SB 1810, and SB 1929 on the General State  
        Calendar; and SJR 43 on the Constitutional Amendments Calendar.   
        The motion was seconded by Rep. McCall and passed by the  
        following record vote: 
         
        Ayes:           Representatives Hilbert; Berlanga; Brimer;  
                        Danburg; Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place;  
                        Turner, Sylvester (9). 
         
        Nays:           None (0). 
         
        Present not Voting:  Representative Stiles (1). 
         
        Absent:         Representative Sadler (1). 
         
        At 7:40 pm, on the motion of Representative Danburg and without  
        objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the call of the  
        chair.
