         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 25,  
         1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark  
         Stiles at 8:05 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Hernandez; Sadler (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Brimer; Dutton; McCall; Place;  
                   Turner, Sylvester (5). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Rep. Sadler moved to place the following bills on the General  
         State Calendar for Tuesday, May 27, 1997:  SB 232, SB 542, SB  
         940, SB 1100, SB 1161, SB 1190, SB 1253, SB 1502, SB 1518, SB  
         1774, SB 1781, SB 1876, SB 1577 and SB 257.  Rep. Hilbert  
         seconded the motion, which passed by the following record  
         vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Stiles; Hilbert; Berlanga;  
                        Danburg; Hernandez; Sadler (6). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Brimer; Dutton; McCall; Place;  
                        Turner, Sylvester (5). 
          
         At 8:10 pm, on the motion of Representative Danburg and  
         without objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the  
         call of the chair.
