         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 6, 1997, the House Committee on Civil Practices met in a public 
         hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Patricia Gray at 4:05 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Gray; Alvarado; Bosse; Dutton; Goodman; Roman; Zbranek (7).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Hilbert; Nixon, Joe (2).
         
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out HB 368.  
         
         The chair recognized Rep. McCall to explain the measure.  
         
         Testimony was taken.  
         
         The chair recognized Reps. Greenberg and McCall to close on the measure.  
         
         Representative Goodman moved that HB 368 be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation 
         that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following vote:  
         
         Ayes:     Representatives Gray; Alvarado; Bosse; Dutton; Goodman; Roman; Zbranek (7).
         
         Nays:     None (0).
         
         Present not Voting: None (0).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Hilbert; Nixon, Joe (2).
