Pursuant to a notice posted on February 6, 1997 and a suspension
of the 5-day posting rule on February 12, 1997, the House
Committee on Corrections met in a public hearing and was called
to order by the Chair, Representative Allen Hightower at 11:14
am.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Hightower; Alexander; Gray; Hupp;
Marchant; Serna (6).
Absent: Representatives Allen; Edwards; Farrar (3).
A quorum was present.
HB 432
The chair laid out HB 432.
Representative Alexander offered a complete committee
substitute.
The chair recognized Representative Place to explain the
measure.

Testimony was taken. See attached witness list.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Gray moved that H.B. 432, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hightower; Alexander; Edwards; Farrar;
Gray; Hupp; Marchant; Serna (8).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting:None (0).
Absent: Representative Allen (1).

The chair laid out HB 52.
The chair recognized Representative Greenberg to explain the
measure.
The bill was left pending without objection.
At 11:32 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
