         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 21, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Corrections met in a public hearing and was called 
         to order by the Chair, Representative Allen Hightower at 11:46 
         am.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Marchant; Serna (7).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Alexander; Edwards (2).
         
         A quorum was present.
