         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 9, 1997, the House  
         Committee on Corrections met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the Chair, Representative Allen Hightower  
         at 7:29 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Hightower; Allen; Alexander; Farrar;  
                   Gray; Hupp (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Edwards; Marchant; Serna (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 250 
          
         The chair laid out SB 250.  
          
         (Representatives Edwards and Marchant now present.)   
          
         The chair recognized Representative Hamric and Senator  
         Patterson to explain the measure.   
          
         Testimony was taken.   
          
         The bill was left pending without objection.  
          
         At 10:21 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
