         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 21, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a public hearing 
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Allen 
         Place at 2:17 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:

         Absent:   Representatives Hinojosa; Keel, Terry; Nixon, Joe 
                   (3).

         The chair laid out HB 752.
         
         The Chair recognized Rep. Alexander to explain the bill.
