House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence
         75th Legislature

         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on March 3, 
         1997, the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a 
         formal meeting and was called to order by the Chair, 
         Representative Allen Place at 11:10 am.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Place; Talton; Dunnam; Galloway, 
                   Carolyn; Keel, Terry; Nixon, Joe; Reyna, Arthur (7).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Farrar; Hinojosa (2).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         HB 1185
         
         The chair laid out HB 1185.  The Chair moved that the 
         committee reconsider the vote by which HB 1185 passed the 
         committee on February 26, 1997.  There being no objection, the 
         motion passed.
         
         Representative Place offered a complete committee substitute.
         
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
         
         Representative Nixon, Joe moved that HB 1185, as substituted, 
         be reported favorably to the full house with the 
         recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion 
         prevailed by the following vote:  
         
         Ayes:     Representatives Place; Talton; Dunnam; Galloway, 
                   Carolyn; Keel, Terry; Nixon, Joe; Reyna, Arthur (7).
         
         Nays:     None (0).
         
         Present not Voting: None (0).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Farrar; Hinojosa (2).
         
 
         





         At 11:30 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection, 
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
