         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 12, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence, Subcommittee on Civil  
         Commitment of Violent Offenders met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the Chair, Representative Juan Hinojosa  
         at  9:30 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

         Absent:   Nixon (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.   
          
         At 11:45 a.m., on the motion of Representative Reyna, and  
         without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the
