         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 27, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Economic Development, Subcommittee on Smart Jobs  
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the Acting  
         Chair, Representative Luna, Vilma at 9:48 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Luna; Seaman; Van de Putte;  
                   Yarbrough(4). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Keffer (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The chair laid out the topic of the Smart Jobs Fund Program.

         The chair recognized Representative Siebert as being in  
         attendance.

         The chair recognized Representative Gutierrez as being  
         present.

         At 12:48 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
