         Pursuant to a notice posted on August 25, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Economic Development met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the Chair, Representative Rene Oliveira  
         at 9:50 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Oliveira; Greenberg; Keffer; Luna;  
                   Seaman (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Yarbrough; Raymond; Siebert; Van de  
                   Putte (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The chair laid out the subject of the impact of  the North  
         American Free Trade Agreement. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 11:48 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
